Send mobile vaccine clinics to Toronto buildings where many seniors live, Ontario’s science table says in new report

Dr. Nathan Stall, Associate Fellow at the NIA and one of the report’s authors and geriatrician and researcher at Sinai Health System, said older adults in high-risk NORCs (naturally occurring retirement communities) should be considered another priority group within the province’s strategy. This new report provides a “road map” for Toronto Public Health of buildings that can be targeted first, he said.

“The goal was to make a strong case that this population does require mobile on-site vaccination in the same way that we went out and vaccinated long-term-care and retirement home residents,” said Stall, assistant scientific director of the Science Advisory Table, a group that provides evidence to inform the province’s pandemic response.
