Addressing swallowing issues as we age

The ability to swallow is something most of us take for granted; however, in older adults, it can become a serious and life-threatening problem if it's impaired and nor properly addressed. Swallowing disorders, also called dysphagia, can affect up to 30% of older adults. Further, it’s now considered a geriatric syndrome by many experts due to its growing prevalence and health impact in older adults.
